Finding a therapist with immediate availability is time consuming and incredibly stressful. No one really has the time to spend hours on the phone trying to find a therapist for their child. However, while paediatric therapists with immediate availability are difficult to find, they do exist and the balance between waiting lists and immediate availability is always changing.

Kid’s Therapy Corner has been designed to make the search for kids therapy a little easier by helping you see who may have some availability before you pick up the phone. It is a free to use Australia wide directory which allows you to search for and connect with paediatric therapists who have immediate availability.

The directory has two listing types. Children’s Therapists and Inclusive Services. Each of these listing types has their own search filter which changes when you switch between them.

In the Children’s Therapy Listing type, you can filter your search by:

  • therapy type
  • location
  • immediate availability (by therapy type)
  • telehealth services (by therapy type)

Entering information in the location field triggers a distance filter which allows you to adjust your search radius. Some listings include the age range of kids (and adults) they work with. I have also set up a reminder service for therapists to help them keep information about immediate availability in their listing as up to date as possible.

In the Inclusive Services Listing type, you can filter your search by category or location.

Outside the Box

This is a new newsletter starting in October 2024. I decided to start this newsletter because while a lot of progress has been made in the mental health space, unfortunately we still have a very long way to go for those who struggle with the stigma around mental health. It is a community wide issue and supporting mental health is a community responsibility.

Each month I talk about a different topic related to mental health. That might be a helpful link or resource, news in the mental health space, or even my perspective on a particular issue. It goes out on the first Monday of each month.

If you would like to join my mailing list, please follow the link below.
